This extra virgin olive oil made from ecologically cultivated olives, is produced in the Northeastern of the province of Jaén (Andalucía), in the Natural Park which is made up of the Segura, Cazorla and Las Villas mountain ranges. It boasts an extraordinary beautiful landscape, full of olive and pine trees.

The exceptional geographical conditions, the PICUAL, ARBEQUINA and CORNICABRA varieties of olives, the fact that the olives are picked by hand separating those collected from the ground from those picked directly from the tree, the craftsmanship involved in the exclusive cold pressing production method, and quality controls have resulted in ORO DE GÉNAVE being awarded the Quality Label Product of the Sierra de Segura Natural Park.

ORO DE GÉNAVE is an extra virgin olive oil made from ECOLOGICALLY AND BIOLOGICALLY CULTIVATED OLIVES, thanks to an European Union (EU) pilot research scheme called ECLAIR, which has made it possible to cultivate olives wighout the use of fertilisers or chemical pesticides. The process of cultivation and production is under the control of the C.A.A.E. (Andalusian Committe for Organic Agriculture, recognized by EU) and Technical specialists who give constant advice to the growers in the fight against plagues and diseases wich affect the olive tree (ATRIAS).

A First Degree Andalusian Co-operative Society, belonging to Olivar de Segura SCA 2º, is authorised to pack this organic olive oil, produced by its 100 members who produce over an area of 2.000 Ha.

The oil produced in ecological conditions under the brand name of ORO DE GÉNAVE is inherently extra virgin oil, with no additives or preservatives, contains an acidity level of less than 0,4º and is always made from the first cold pressing. It is of the purest quality giving it a greenish yellow colour with a fruitly smell and taste that is both fresh and aromatic, which results in tis being granted the QUALITY CERTIFICATE for Andalusian Food Products.
